Edgy Lyrics

Here is lyric number three for November 3:
EDGY LYRICS
by Pam Bowen

Verse 1:
I sent some songs to Nashville and some out to LA.
“You need more edgy lyrics” was all they had to say.
So I’m trying to figure out what “edgy lyrics” means.
Do I need to run with scissors, shove my hand in a machine?

CHORUS:
CUTTING EDGE, LEADING EDGE
RAZOR’S EDGE, BLEEDING EDGE.
TRYING TO BE EDGY
IS LIKE WALKING WITH A WEDGIE.

Verse 2:
Edgy’s what I am when I’m texting as I drive.
I don’t see my car is drifting over to the side.
Tires on the gravel, fender scraping on a hedge
Clue me in that I am driving on the edge.

CHORUS

Verse 3:
Your kiss is damned disgusting; it’s more than I can take.
It’s like the slimy edges of a man-made lake.
There, did that sound edgy? I know it sounded mean.
As edgy as it needs to be to make the music scene?

CHORUS

Bridge:
I’m giving up on edgy—I’ll take middle of the road.
I may not win a grammy, a million records sold,
But I bet my simple songs can pass the test of time
When all those edgy lyrics have gone and lost their shine.

CHORUS
